Its pretty difficult to discover anything in a black hole. Astrophysicits (such as at NASA) are identifying potential black holes based on the behaviour of other objects, from stars to galaxies. From what I understand, light cannot even persist in a black hole. The intense gravity of black holes seem to be hazardous for whole stars, so it doesn’t look good for life to persist in one.

But who knows. Lets sort out the physics (and geography) of black holes, then maybe we can consider the ecology.
