Well I did not do GCSE’s in the UK, because I did my high school in Portugal. In Portugal we do 8 “GCSE’s”, though only 2-3 will count for access to University. In my case these were Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry and I had 18 (out of a maximum of 20) in Biology and Chemistry and 19 in Mathematics, so the average was about 18. As far as I was told, a score of 18 or above is equivalent to an AAA or AAB, depending on which equivalence they are considering (since different universities will use different systems, though normally between 18-20 is considered an A).

I wasn’t particularly good in school, so no amazing grades:

      Chemistry A
      English Literature A
      English Language B
      Biology B
      Physics B
      Mathematics C
      French C

I failed on Music (D), Religious Studies (D) and Electronic Products (E). Should have watched less TV and played less video games.
